A former Kings forward (1987-90), Mike Allison served three seasons (1995-98) as color commentator on Kings radio broadcasts with play-by-play man Nick Nickson.

A 10-year NHL veteran, Allison broke in with the New York Rangers in 1980, scoring 26 goals and 64 points as a rookie. Allison also played for Toronto before the Kings acquired him during the 1987-88 season. He remained with Los Angeles through the 1989-90 season, scoring 32-45=77 in 147 games with Los Angeles.

Outside the broadcast booth, Allison served as assistant director of the Kings Youth Hockey Camp (held each summer) and was also active with Kings Alumni and various youth organizations on the club’s behalf.

His brother Dave, was a career minor league defenseman and coached the Ottawa Senators during the 1995-96 season. A native of Fort Francis, Ont., Allison was selected by the New York Rangers round in the second round, No. 35 overall, in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft.
